Thich Nhat Hanh
36 x 48 Inches Acrylic on canvas
In my journey toward inner peace I have looked toward peaceful giants like the late great Thich Nhat Hanh. I was astonished at the spiritual coincidence of this painting. Its creation began the weekend of Thich Nhat Hanh's passing from this earth.
I had a vase of flowers that were dying and I had a sudden urge to throw them onto the grass first. They looked so beautiful and I did not want to throw them away. As I gazed a bit longer at the strewn flowers I contemplated other things I don't like parting with, relationships and friendships, even though sometimes its for the best.
Then to my amazement I read words by Thich Nhat Hanh I had not read before, about the strength of the spirit and how it never dies. I send my huge gratitude to his spirit for his comforting words. I, along with the countless millions of people all over this world are so eternally grateful for all the work he did during his earthly life to leave this world a better place. And even after his physical passing his wisdom will help future generations navigate their way to a place of peace.
